Certified as One of The Most Effective Anti-Slip Solutions by SIRIM

Nano-G Nanotechnology Anti-Slip Floor Coating transforms surfaces to only have less than 1 in a million chance of causing slip and fall accidents even when wet!

We’re proud to announce that our Nano-G Nanotechnology Anti-Slip Floor Coating has been certified by SIRIM as one of the most effective anti-slip solution in Malaysia. They’ve tallied our Pendulum Test Values to be at 93 PTV for dry areas, and 56 PTV for wet areas!

We’re glad to be providing SIRIM Certified anti-slip solution to all our clients, saving many loved ones from avoidable accidents.

What is a Pendulum Test?

A Pendulum Test is a type of quality assurance method specifically designed to test how slippery a surface is by using a swinging pendulum. This pendulum mimics how the heel of a foot (as represented with a rubber slider) would slip on a surface when it is wet or dry, such as when you are running, walking, or even just standing.

What the pendulum test measures is the Slip Potential of a surface, using a scale that shows where the ‘foot’ stops swinging. Ideally, the surface being tested on would create enough resistance or friction for the foot, letting it swing and stop closer to the ground. The quality assurance expert will then make and record a few swings before finding the average to measure the Pendulum Test Value (PTV) of a surface that would fall within the ranges of High, Moderate, and Low Slip Potentials.

The Pendulum Test tries to mimic how the heel of the foot would slip after coming into contact with a slippery surface.

The average result from the pendulum test indicates how likely a person would slip on a surface.

The PTV listed here measures the slip potential of surfaces that receive foot traffic for people wearing shoes. A PTV higher than 36 indicates that the solution is especially effective for wet area conditions.

” Based on our results, Nano-G Nanotechnology Anti-Slip Floor Coating falls in the PTV of 36+ range, meaning our solution is effective enough in guarantee less than a 1 in a million chance of a slip and fall accident at home! “

Why is the Pendulum Test important?

It’s a matter of transparency and having a trusted government body assess how our claims match up to the performance of our product! While we’re confident about how effective our solution is at saving lives, having a big institution prove and back us up to being the best slip-resistant formula for floors helps let you, our customers, know that you can trust us.

What’s more, the Pendulum Test is a well-respected and accurate measurement of slip resistance. It has a long history in the United Kingdom’s flooring industry as part of its slip resistance tests that specifically looks into the quality of a tile (or in this case, a treated tile)’s friction. It is not easy to get as high of a score(s) that our solution has! However, we should mention that our solution is only a preventative measure to be put on slippery surfaces.

Also, Nano-G Nanotechnology Anti-Slip Floor Coating isn’t just good for providing an excellent grainy-textured surface to your floor. Our solution also enhances the look of your floors, can be applied on most surfaces, and is able to keep your tiles easy to clean! We have a whole article on what makes Nano-G Nanotechnology Anti-Slip Floor Coating great, so here are 5 Reasons Why You Should Choose Nano-G Anti-Slip Floor Coating.

    Dear Sirs,
I am in Sabah at a yacht club (KYC) where we have a large ground floor porch area that gets wet from rain ingress and and also from swimmers from the pool close by who drip water and make the tiles slippery for them and other people walking on the tiles.

The floor area is covered in large smooth tiles and needs an anti slip coating.
Can you please send me your TDS of the product you use, or if you have an agent in Sabah maybe we can arrange a visit?
    Kind regards Andy Alton

      Hi Andy Alton,

Nano-G Malaysia currently only has branches in West Malaysia. However, we do have plans to expand to the East in the near future. Please contact our team through our Facebook m.me/nanogmalaysia or WhatsApp nanog.wasap.my.

    Hi.
I read your non slip article with interest. Could you tell me does Malaysia have a legal slip resistance for tiles if you have a business?
